The Northcliffe, EC4

Originally constructed in the 1920s, The Northcliffe is an innovative transformation by JRA Architects, whilst preserving the building’s rich heritage through the retention of industrial features and Grade II listed Crittall windows. The historically sensitive reimagining incorporates the original façade while extending the building with the addition of two floors centred around a spectacular reimagined atrium.

The Northcliffe’s heritage features are combined with future-focused design, offering brilliant lifestyle amenities including three new landscaped roof terraces totalling 9,800 sq ft with over 8,000 plants across 55 species, lounge and library spaces, café, tenant gym and best in class commuter facilities.

Sustainability was a priority throughout the development. The project saved 53% of global warming potential versus demolition by retaining the superstructure and building fabric. The Northcliffe achieved BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ certification (achieved by less than 1% of refurbished buildings), EPC B rating, and exceeds RIBA’s 2030 embodied energy emissions targets.

RX London’s strategic leasing campaign has successfully attracted prestigious occupiers including Debevoise & Plimpton, Irwin Mitchell and RWE Technologies, establishing The Northcliffe as a premier workplace destination with high-profile occupiers.
