RX London was appointed by Zopa, the pioneering British digital bank, to secure a new London headquarters. With over 1.4 million customers and a recent €80 million equity raise, Zopa needed a workspace that reflected their status as one of the UK’s fastest-growing digital banks.
Led by Frankie and Helie, the RX London team conducted an extensive search, ultimately securing 44,000 sq ft across three floors (10, 11, and 12) in the stunning 20 Water Street development at Canary Wharf. This move from London Bridge to Canary Wharf represented a significant upgrade, nearly doubling Zopa’s office footprint to accommodate their 900 employees and future growth plans.
20 Water Street, developed by Canary Wharf Group, is a state-of-the-art building with exceptional sustainability credentials, achieving a BREEAM Outstanding rating. The workspace features two outdoor terraces, fostering collaboration and creativity–key priorities for Zopa’s young, dynamic workforce. Canary Wharf as a location has also undergone a massive transformation with a huge range of amenity, F&B and sports facilities providing buzz and vitality essential for attracting and retaining top talent in the competitive fintech sector.
RX London added significant value throughout the process, negotiating favourable terms with Canary Wharf Group and securing a rare opportunity for Zopa to install their ownbranded signage at the top of the 13-storey building. This prominent branding opportunity, uncommon in Central London, further cements Zopa’s position as a leading digital bank challenging the established players. The move to 20 Water Street provides Zopa with a future-proof headquarters that aligns perfectly with their innovative culture and ambitious growth trajectory. The flexible, collaborative space will support Zopa’s continued expansion as they launch new products and services, including their flagship current account and AI-driven banking solutions.
